Is it just me, or do I always find myself constantly saying, “I have nothing to wear!” but have a closet of clothes? I like to convey my creativity through fashion and incorporate various styles and aesthetics into my daily dressing if you’re like me. If you’re also similar to me, there are very few points in the year where I shop for clothes, whether online or in-store, since my bank account is buckled down to my college tuition, unfortunately. So, when I am not shopping for clothes, hand-me-downs from friends and family members are one of my favorite clothing items that I own. Are you wondering how to “spice up” your wardrobe with potential items you may already own in your closet? Look no further!
1. Oversized Blazer
As of right now, an oversized blazer is one of the most stylish pieces of wardrobe you can own. It is a trend that I encourage you to pick up because it is such a classic and elegant look. There are numerous ways to style an oversized blazer. One example is a blazer with jeans and a tee, representing my book’s best modest chic outfit.

2. White Button-Down Blouse
The white button-down blouse is the pillar of any closet. It is perfect for dressing up with slacks in the office or a classy evening night out. Also, you can dress it down with a weekend brunch or running errands. No matter how you wear it, a white button-down combines instantaneous elegance with any look, making having an excellent item in your wardrobe a fashion essential.

3. Jeans
Undoubtedly, this is the closest staple for many individuals, and you may already have your ultimate jean cut in your cycle. But if you’re looking for some refresh-denim insight that could be of interest to mix it up a bit, I could reveal some of my favorite denim trends. Loose-fitting jeans have become progressively fashionable over the last few years, especially a wider leg cut that has arrived in the limelight. High-waisted, vintage-influenced, straight-leg jeans will still stand solid as one of the denim cuts in style amongst the fashion bunch. Contemporary and smooth. The bootcut types (with a minor flare but not as extreme).

4. Boots
Boots, in general, are one of my best-loved shoe attire to wear during the colder months. There are a variety of designs of boots that I particularly own or would love as an addition to my closet. Tall boots make a fantastic investment and a necessity for your fall/winter wardrobe, and I doubt they will never go out of style. I suggest having either a pair of black, brown, or gray leather (or suede) boots. Booties are the highly worn shoe in my closet during the fall. They go with anything – skirts, dresses, and jeans — and they’re a terrific fluctuating item as the seasons adjust. I especially admire a pair with a heel since I’m 5’2″, and the extra height gives the impression that my legs look longer.

5. Sweaters
“Sweater weather = best weather.” A mixture of oversized, cropped, knit, and semi-fitted turtleneck sweaters are all excellent additives to have in your closet for the fall and winter seasons.

6. Dresses
As soon as the temperatures start to fall, a dress may well be the final item you reach for when placing your fall/winter outfits together, specifically when you don’t believe yourself to be a dress person. With all that in belief, fashioning a dress for fall or winter can be simpler said than done. A long-sleeve printed dress beneath a traditional trench coat gives a chic, timeless look. A wardrobe classic that is a bit more exclusive is a shirt dress. Collard or button-down dress comes in all shapes, colors, and sizes that can give you the fall/winter aesthetic that you’re looking for. Fall or winter is the picture-perfect time to wear a chunky sweater dress or a chic knit dress. A puff-sleeve dress settles effortlessly with any of your boots this fall.

7. Skirts
Typically, you can modify any skirt with your style. I wanted to highlight a variety of styles oozing their way into fall and winter. Leather skirts are simple to class, and they always look chic. Knit skirts are the modality if you’re up for a cozy look. What would fall be without plaid? It’s the print that doesn’t stop offering! While pleated skirts rule in the summer season, their fame doesn’t stop in the fall or winter. A trouser skirt is when a skirt has the tightened, buttoned waist that’s usually on trousers, and in my opinion, it is more elegant than any other skirt.

It can be tempting to buy numerous trendy clothing items, but the basic wardrobe necessities for average styling are just as essential. I am a firm advocate in personal style and dressing in a way that expresses self-respect and self-honor. Above all, your inner character is far more valuable than the outside. Respectively, work on your internal character and have your exterior reflect the same.
Please comment and share what you would consider an essential item to have in your wardrobe for the fall or winter season? Also, where are your preferred places to shop, whether in-store or online? Here are just two of my favorite places to shop online!

Wow so inspiring. Thank you for these tips and
tricks. who knew that I already have what I needed year around for every season right here in my closet. Mix and match the right items could reveal just the perfect outfit
I’m so grateful to hear that my tips inspired your fashion sense! You’re absolutely right! Most clothing pieces you may have in your wardrobe can be used all year round, and once you get your “creative juice” flowing, you can come up with the most classy outfit.
You are so right! I get the most compliments when I wear some of my oldest clothes items. You just reminded of an old blazer that keeps getting in my way in the closet. I’m going to dust it off and try it on with some jeans. I’ll let you know how it turns out. Thanks for the advice 😉
Same for me! I definitely get more compliments from others when I wear more vintage clothing items. I’m so glad to hear that! I would love to hear how it turned out!
Hey this is really cool! Thanks for the tips, I definitely say “I don’t have anything to wear!” Daily.
Thank you so much! Of course, happy to help! Yes, that is a phrase I have to work on not saying so often.
